Wild swimming & sauna spots in Sussex
Looking for the best wild swimming spots in Sussex?
From Brighton and Eastbourne to Worthing and Bognor Regis, discover our beach sauna locations along the Sussex coastline, where many guests enjoy spending time by the sea before or after their sauna session.
There’s something special about spending time beside the sea after a sauna. The warmth, the feeling of your feet on cool pebbles, the fresh coastal air and the ever-changing view across the water all have a way of slowing you down and bringing you into the present moment.
Across Sussex, both wild swimming and sauna culture have grown rapidly over the last few years, with more people discovering the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors. Whether it's walking along the shoreline, sitting quietly by the water or choosing to take a swim, combining time by the coast with a sauna offers a wonderful way to reconnect with nature and step away from everyday life.
Please note: Luna Hut provides sauna facilities only. Any sea swimming or other water-based activity is undertaken at your own risk. Sea conditions can change rapidly and may not be suitable for swimming. Always assess conditions carefully, follow local safety guidance and only enter the water if you are confident it is safe to do so.
Why pair wild swimming with sauna?
It's easy to see why many people find themselves hooked after their first wild swim. It's not just about the act of swimming (or dipping), but how it makes you feel.
The moment you enter the water, your focus shifts away from to-do lists, notifications and everyday stresses, and towards the temperature of the sea, the movement of the waves and the feeling of being immersed in nature.
That connection with nature is one of the things we love most about having beach saunas. Sitting in the warmth of the sauna, looking out across the sea and then stepping into the fresh coastal air has a way of making everything else feel a little smaller. The thoughts that have been circling around your head all day seem to quieten down, replaced by the simple rhythm of heat, fresh air, sea and sky.
Traditional Finnish sauna culture, which inspires our approach at Luna Hut, has long been closely connected with the outdoors. Many Finns cool down between sauna rounds by spending time outside, whether that's in the fresh air, snow, lakes or the sea, depending on the season and location.
For us, there's no better setting for a sauna than beside the coast. Whether you simply enjoy the sea views, take a walk along the beach or decide to take a swim when conditions are suitable, the combination of fresh air, nature and sauna heat creates an experience that feels wonderfully simple.

Some guests choose to swim before or after their sauna session, while others simply enjoy sitting by the sea or taking a stroll along the promenade. If you do decide to enter the sea, always assess the conditions carefully beforehand.

With cafés, yoga classes and the beach all just a pebble's throw away, it's easy to turn your visit into a relaxing morning or afternoon by the coast.

Eastbourne: Wish Tower Beach

Our Eastbourne sauna sits just moments from the beach, with wonderful views across the pier and towards the Seven Sisters. Whether you simply enjoy the scenery or decide to take a swim when conditions are suitable, it's a peaceful place to experience sauna by the coast.

Worthing: East Beach
At East Beach Worthing you'll find artists working from beach huts alongside relaxed seafront cafés such as Coast and Perch on the Parade. The surrounding green spaces make it easy to spend a few peaceful hours outdoors.
Our Worthing sauna is tucked just behind the promenade within the grounds of Splashpoint Leisure Centre, offering a calm, restful setting with uninterrupted sea views.
If you don't wish to enter the sea, our chilled plunge tubs, bucket shower and cold showers provide alternative ways to cool down between sauna rounds. Many guests also enjoy spending time relaxing on the beach or walking along the seafront after their session.
Luna Hut Worthing can be found at Splashpoint Leisure Centre, 60 Brighton Road, Worthing.
Bognor Regis: Bognor Regis Beach
Did you know that Bognor Regis is often described as one of the sunniest places in the UK? Its award-winning beach makes it a wonderful place to spend time outdoors throughout the year.
With expansive sea views and wide horizons, our Bognor Regis beach sauna is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the company of friends and fellow sauna-goers.
The beach is only a short walk from the sauna if you decide to take a swim. Alternatively, our outdoor shower offers a refreshing way to cool down between sauna rounds without entering the sea.
Take time to wander along the promenade, watch the waves or simply sit and enjoy the fresh sea air before or after your sauna.

We hope we've given you plenty of inspiration for your next visit to the Sussex coast.
If you choose to enter the sea before or after your sauna session, remember that open water is an unpredictable natural environment. Always check tides, weather forecasts and local water quality, stay within your abilities, and ideally swim with a friend. If you're ever unsure about the conditions, enjoy the sauna, fresh sea air and coastal views without entering the water. You can read more open water safety advice from the RNLI.
