Gender and Equalities Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this Gender and Equalities Policy is to ensure that Luna Hut provides an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all customers and staff, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under equality legislation. This policy outlines our commitment to promoting equality and preventing discrimination in all aspects of our operations, including mixed-gender, male-only, and female-only sauna sessions.

Luna Hut is dedicated to creating a space where everyone feels valued, respected, and safe. By adhering to this policy, we aim to foster an environment that supports equality and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

Under 18s Policy

To ensure the safety and well-being of all our guests, we have established the following policy regarding sauna use for individuals under the age of 18:

We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable sauna experience for all our guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this policy.

Pregnancy Policy

While we want all guests to feel welcome and supported, we do not recommend using the sauna during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. If you are pregnant and considering using the sauna, please consult your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional before attending.

Private Hire Policy

Essential Oils Policy

To ensure the safety, comfort, and overall experience of all our guests, the use of essential oils is not permitted within our saunas. This policy is in place for the following reasons:‌

In our guided Aufguss sessions our practitioners will use their training to use essential oils safely, and guests will be informed in advance that essential oils will be used.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy. Our goal is to provide a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable environment for everyone. Thank you for respecting our guidelines.

Alcohol & Deckchair Policy

Alcohol Policy

Alcohol is not permitted in or around the sauna unless agreed with management in advance. Guests who appear intoxicated will not be allowed to enter the sauna or remain on site, in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.

Deckchair policy

  • Deckchairs are for sauna guests only.

  • To ensure fair access for everyone, time limits on deckchair use may be in place during busy periods. Please be considerate and vacate your deckchair if you’ve been seated for an extended period, or if others are waiting.

  • Large groups are encouraged to use alternative seating options, such as nearby beach picnic areas or local cafés, to help keep the space welcoming and inclusive for all.

  • If you appear intoxicated, you may be asked to vacate your deckchair and leave the site to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

  • Guests who have privately hired the sauna have priority use of the deckchairs. Anyone remaining from a previous session may be politely asked to move on to make space.

Disabled Access Policy

At Luna Hut, we’re committed to creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all our guests, including those with disabilities.
We recognise that there are currently limitations to accessibility – particularly due to our locations on stony beaches and the design of our saunas – but we’re committed to being transparent, offering support where we can, and continuously working to improve access over time.

We’re currently working with disabled access specialists at our Beaconsfield Road sauna café, with the aim of making this location wheelchair accessible in the near future. This section will be updated once this work is complete.

Nudity Policy

At Luna Hut we are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all guests. Our nudity policy reflects our commitment to comfort, modesty, and personal choice while adhering to health and safety standards.

Thank you for adhering to our nudity policy and contributing to a respectful and enjoyable experience for all.

Equal Opportunities Policy

Purpose

Luna Hut is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment for both customers and employees. This policy outlines our commitment to equal opportunities in all aspects of our operations, ensuring fairness, dignity, and respect for all individuals, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.

Health & Safety Policy

Purpose

Luna Hut is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for staff, customers, and visitors. This policy outlines our approach to risk management, accident prevention, and overall health and safety compliance.

Pet Policy

To ensure a peaceful and comfortable experience for all guests, we kindly ask that no dogs are brought onto the premises, with the exception of registered guide dogs.

Customer Conduct Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines our approach to behaviour that threatens the safety, wellbeing or comfort of our staff and other guests. We believe our customers have the right to be heard, understood and treated with respect. We also have a moral and legal duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to provide a safe working environment for our employees.

The primary purpose of this policy is to protect staff from harassment and provide a consistent framework for managing difficult interactions with customers of Luna Hut Ltd.

We recognise that customers may sometimes be frustrated or upset. We will always seek to distinguish between behaviour arising from genuine frustration and behaviour that is abusive, threatening or persistent to the extent that it becomes unreasonable. Wherever possible, we will seek to resolve concerns before imposing any restrictions under this policy.

We will apply this policy fairly, consistently and without discrimination, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
